About Us

The Menir Legacy

Founded by the late I Nyoman Niryasa SH, the property was born from a vision to give back to the village that shaped his life. Raised among the fertile highlands of Munduk, he believed tourism could become a bridge between travellers and local communities — creating opportunities while preserving the spirit of the region.

The name “Menir” comes from Sanskrit culture, referring to small rice grains — symbols of prosperity, abundance, fertility, and good health. Like rice cultivated patiently over time, Munduk Menir Villas was created with care, purpose, and connection to the land.

Today, that vision continues through the family and local community who proudly welcome guests into the highlands they call home.

Why Munduk?

Most visitors come to Bali for beaches. But Bali’s soul lives in the mountains.

Tucked within the cool highlands of North Bali, Munduk offers a quieter and more authentic side of the island — where mist drifts through the valleys, waterfalls hide behind jungle trails, and life moves at a gentler pace.

The weather here is refreshingly cooler than the south of Bali, especially in the evenings. Mornings often begin wrapped in soft mountain mist, while clear afternoons reveal sweeping views across the valley toward Bali’s northern coastline. On clear nights, the sky transforms into a blanket of stars. We recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater to fully enjoy Munduk’s cool mountain atmosphere.

Beyond the scenery, Munduk is one of Bali’s most rewarding destinations for travellers seeking nature, culture, and adventure. Explore cascading waterfalls including Munduk, Gitgit, Aling-Aling, and Sekumpul Waterfall. Paddle across the peaceful crater lakes of Buyan and Tamblingan, surrounded by untouched rainforest and mountain air.

The fertile highlands have also produced coffee, cloves, cocoa, and vanilla for generations. Wander through spice plantations, discover scenic trekking routes through rice terraces and village paths, and experience a community that remains deeply connected to Balinese traditions and spiritual life.

Whether you come for adventure, stillness, or cultural connection, Munduk invites you to experience Bali beyond the ordinary.

Entering Indonesia

Most international travellers arriving in Bali will enter through Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS).

Before travelling, please ensure you complete the necessary entry requirements:

  • Indonesia e-Arrival Card — Required for international visitors and can be submitted online within 72 hours before arrival

  • Visa on Arrival / e-VOA — Many nationalities are eligible and may apply online in advance to avoid airport queues

  • Bali Tourist Levy — IDR 150,000 per visitor, payable online before arrival

We also recommend ensuring:

  • Your passport is valid for at least 6 months

  • You have proof of onward or return travel

  • You check the latest Indonesian immigration and customs regulations before departure

For a smoother arrival experience, we highly recommend completing all online forms and payments before your flight.

Weather in Munduk

Unlike the tropical heat of South Bali, Munduk enjoys a refreshing mountain climate throughout the year thanks to its location over 1,100 metres above sea level.

Mornings are often cool and misty, afternoons are pleasant and breezy, while evenings can become surprisingly chilly — especially during rainy season or after sunset. The cool highland air, dramatic valley views, and occasional blanket of mountain mist are all part of Munduk’s charm.

We recommend bringing:

  • A light jacket or sweater

  • Comfortable walking shoes for trekking and waterfall visits

  • Light rain protection during rainy season

On clear days, you may even catch magnificent sunsets stretching toward Bali’s northern coastline, followed by beautiful star-filled skies at night.
